Our interests cover all aspects of local history including archaeology, genealogy, pictorial past, sociology, folklore and a number of other specialist strands.

Members receive "Retrospecs" monthly, mostly by e.mail but hard copies are available to those not on-line.

Since our first meeting in 1996, we have researched a variety of community subjects and events and our displays at Lancing Library have included local education, literary characters, wartime, mills and most recently, highways and byways. We have regular discussions, talks by members and outside speakers, a guided walk once or twice a year and at Christmas, a social event.

Members, individually, hold a number of archives – old documents, books, images, maps, ephemera and many other sources - which they are generally prepared to make available to each other for study and research.
